The international airport closest to Las Catalinas is Liberia International Airport (LIR), which offers direct flights from major gateway cities. Depending on the route, the airport is an hour to an hour and twenty minutes away by car. San José International Airport (SJO), close to Costa Rica’s capital, is about a 4-hour drive from Las Catalinas.

We recommend that our town concierge arrange transportation for you both from and to the airport, by car. When you arrive at the airport, you will be greeted as you exit the terminal and then enjoy a beautiful ride through Costa Rica and into town. Drinks and snacks, like fresh fruit, craft beer, champagne, and agua de pipa (coconut water), as well as other options, are available upon request. A helicopter provides for a quicker trip into town, and a truly unique perspective on the surrounding area. Helicopters arrive at and depart from the on-site helicopter pad.

When you leave the terminal, take Route 21 to the right. Drive for approximately 35 minutes, until you reach a streetlight in Belén. Take Route 155 to the right, heading toward Huacas, for approximately 25 minutes. Immediately after Huacas, take Route 180 to the right, looking for Brasilito Beach (15 minutes). Once there, look for the signs for Las Catalinas, passing Potrero village (10 minutes). Continue, going up the hill for 5 minutes, and then down the hill. Arrive at the main entrance to Las Catalinas (GPS coordinates: N10 28.965 W85 47.169).
