Elon Musk is like the first guy who got rich and then did cool stuff with his money.

Well this is awkward: TWTR board hired Goldman to "advise" it that the $54.20 offer is too low. Only problem: Goldman has a SELL rating with a $30 price target. Oops.

This is a fantastic thread from Yishan Wong, former CEO of Reddit, about how naively people think about free speech & content moderation on social networks.
People believe social media apps benefit from divisive content but it’s actually a tax. Elon has no idea what he’ll face.

Yishan gets a stern frown for writing a thread this long but it is an insightful perspective

Great thread. Especially for those who think it’s trivial to ban speech they don’t like. It’s impossible to make everyone happy with any decision.

Good thread on the implications of $TWTR buyout from the former ceo of Reddit

This is a hell of a good thread on #Elon, at scale social platforms, and "censorship/free speech"

I'm no expert, but what @yishan says about social media rings very true, independent of any particular story in the news like the current one about Elon Musk. Well worth reading IMO.
This is probably why Radar of Nigerian tech isn’t coming back to. Moderation is hardddd
Yishan, explained what Elon might face if indeed he succeeds in taking over Twitter. Elon will become the most hated richest man in the world.
Sage insight into what’s happening on social platforms today
Read this.
Uniquely insightful abt social media (inc Elon/Twitter) but with a message that no-one wants to hear:
Social media is bad & ends up needing censorship bc of you (and me).
Ppl & their behavior are what mess it all up.
@yishan didn't say it but: don't be a dick.
Good insight and while we all want a voice in this chaos, most times that voice is squashed by louder voices.
IMO - Elon wants Twitter for an ulterior motive, he wants his voice and those that echoes his to stand out as a way to push his agendas and businesses, its a tool. $TWTR
This is a great opinion on Twitter, and Elon Musk's takeover offer.
Good thread. There's only one fun role as a CEO of social media and it's Ryan Roslansky role as CEO of LinkedIn. Of course, Microsoft bought the only good social media.
Buying Twitter is a nightmare and I always get frightened when someone suggests $MSFT to buy it. $FB $META

Super informed on why we shouldn't want @elonmusk to take over Twitter.
Not sure I agree by #MustRead nonetheless.
Definitely worth a read #twitter #musk #FreedomOfSpeech #internet #Web3 #socialmedia
Some good points.
If you want your business to succeed you’re going to have to moderate, appeal to the masses, and piss people off. There’s a reason Facebook and Twitter are worth many billions while Gab and Parler…aren’t.
